Equitable coffee: a question of justice.
Dear customer,
More and more consumers require that the goods that they buy be produced in the respect of the workers and the environment.
According to a CROP survey carried out in 1998, 41% of the Canadians are ready to pay 30% more for coffee known as "equitable" - a coffee bought from the producers at a right price. The coffee that we taste each morning is the fruit of the labour of million of workers and from producers of the South. Unfortunately, several of them receive only one thin wages for a work carried out under conditions often very difficult.
Therefore, we at Cafe Pablito, with an aim of encouraging the producers cooperatives who use respectful agricultural & environmetal methods decided to offer a coffee coming from the UCIRI to you, which is a cooperative implied in the equitable trade. The incomes of the equitable coffee thus make it possible for the caféculteurs to carry out several Community projects benefitting at the same time directly their family. The whole being in the respect of their environment.
Be aware of this logo, guaranteeing to our customers that our coffee is really equitable.
In Canada, TransFair guarantees that the products which carry its seal were bought from cooperatives of small producers of Latin America, Africa and Asia according to criteria's of the equitable trade.
